Sales Account Manager I
Job Summary
Generate sales for the company by helping and providing benefits to our customers through our products, solutions, and services; allowing the customer to be more efficient, productive, save money, and make informed decisions. Generate realistic and growing sales plans and execute those plans to meet growth goals for the company. Identify new customers/partners/OEMs in existing or new market segments.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages all sales activity for their designated market, including:
    • Identify and understand market/customer needs
    • Timely follow-up on sales leads and inquiries.
    • Works directly with marketing to create a strategy to market and promote products and ensure consistent qualified lead generation.
    • Evaluates the need for new products in the market and works with Product Development Team to specify future needs in the market.
    • Identifies and attends major tradeshows for assigned market that provide the best value.
    • Recruits, evaluates, and approves new resellers and OEM’s to represent company products in their market space and supports them as needed
    • Performs on-site customer training and setup as needed.
  • Support and follow the defined sales process, properly using our in-house CRM (Juniverse).
  • Develops and maintains close relationships with existing Reseller's and OEM's through strategy sessions, information sharing, forecasting, processing orders, product updates etc.
  • Generating and executing annual revenue plans/forecasts that provide revenue growth from available products and solutions, contributing to revenue goals for the company.
  • Report key metrics, including:
    • Monthly, quarterly, and annual bookings for assigned market.
    • Quarterly, and annual revenue for assigned market.
    • Revenue growth; supporting 15% annual revenue growth while also supporting 10% after-tax profit.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in the discipline of the job and 0 years’ experience OR 4 years of directly relevant job experience if the candidate has no schooling OR a combination of schooling and experience that is equivalent to a Bachelor of Science graduate with 0 years’ experience.
  • Requires 2 or more years of experience in sales, marketing, product management, or similar with direct client interface.
  • Experience meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Experience in the rugged mobile computing industry is strongly desired.
  • Experience with Griffin-Hill, SPIN Selling, or other comparable sales methodologies is also strongly desired.
  • Proficient computer skills are required including knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and expert use of ERP sales modules and CRM systems.
Responsibility, Accountability, and Supervisory Responsibilities
May have supervisory responsibility and this individual may occasionally be in charge of a project or activity in which he or she is accountable for the work of other employees or may occasionally have responsibility for other outcomes including product design or project execution. Normally this will be within his or her own department. A supervisor will assign his or her duties to be completed, but this individual will be able to set his or her own schedule.
In addition to the responsibilities listed above, this position is accountable for the following:
  • Meeting or exceeding bookings and revenue plans each month, quarter, and year.
  • Maintaining discounts and margins within company guidelines, contributing to profitability goals for the company
  • Customer retention (establishing long-term business partnerships and continuing to meet their needs)
  • Reporting sales performance to executive management.
  • Negotiate sales contracts, receiving final review and approval from the Director/Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Working Conditions
Physical Demands:
This position requires sitting for extended periods of time, use of hands for typing, and occasional reaching. Requires the ability to talk, see, and lift up to 50 pounds. This position has no vision requirements.
Working Hours and Conditions:
This position generally requires a 40-50 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Typically spending more than 20 nights per year away from home. Must be able to see, speak, type, and sit for extended periods of time in an office environment.
